photographer / artist / designer

what i wanted from early on was to take and make pictures. it has taken a long time to enter into the activity and life of a full time photographer / artist / designer i am today. and then there are so many pictures around. even more have been taken and made already. do we need new ones? still, a picture is not only the product of our mind, imagination and creativity, its also well influenced by the time and circumstances we live in. and then there are some…
the significance in  the insignificant, the composition in the details of everyday items and situations and places i feel challenging in  search for the pictures behind pictures.

reflections and  perspectives, signs and signals, glass and water, colors and structures radiate some magnetism i cannot resist. impressionistic view of people, events and places. questions about the environment and the everyday life around us.

next  to it there is “real” life in assignments and exhibitions, publications and books and projects and co operations and on and on…

in full respect of technical developments i feel best as a straight available light photographer trying to explore the scope of  my imagination within the capacity of my tools. when I use my photos for alterations, enhancement by computer or for collages i sort that into the arts box.

photograph / künstler / designer

schon von frühester jugend an wollte ich photographieren und bilder machen. es war ein weiter weg zum jetztigen leben als photograph / künstler / designer. ss gibt bereits so viele bilder überall. viel mehr sind noch gemacht worden. brauchen wir noch mehr? unabhängig davon ist ein bild nicht ausschließlich ein produkt unserer vorstellung und kreativitär, es ist auch beeinflußt von der zeit und den umständen in denen wir leben. davon gibt es genug...  die bedeutung im unbedeutenden, die komposition in einzelheiten von gegenständen und ereignissen und den orten des täglichen lebens empfinde ich als herausforderung auf der suche nach den bildern hinter den bildern. 

reflexions and perspectives, signs and signals, glass and water, farben und strukturen üben eine anziehungskraft aus, der ich nicht widerstehen kann. die impressionistische sicht auf menschen, ereignisse und orte. fragen nach unserer umwelt und dem täglichen leben um uns. 

daneben gibt es noch das “richtige” leben mit aufträgen und ausstellungen, veröffentlichungen und büchern und projekten und coproduktionen und so weiter...

bei allem respect für technische entwicklung fühle ich mich am besten als herkömmlicher photograph, der mit dem verfügbaren licht auskommt und die breite der vorstellung innerhalb der fähigkeiten seiner werkzeuge auszuloten versucht. wenn ich meine photos bearbeite, sie im computer verändere oder collagen herstelle, dann gehört das für mich in den bereich kunst.
